Saving a Leather Bound Book Printed in 1755

“Just wanted to let you know that I received the leather care products here in Thailand the other day and they were everything you said they were. I put them to use on a book printed in 1755 and bound in full calf. The leather was in solid condition but cracking on the spine and the boards could not be handled without the surface flaking. Upon application of the cleaner I began to see gilt-work on the boards that was not previously evident. When I applied the conditioner to the spine it brought out a morocco label I didn’t even know was there. The leather soaked it up but after a couple of hours was clean to the touch and supple with no more flaking. These products did not effect the color of the leather at all but restored this volume to good serviceable condition. I did a lot of research before I hit upon your company and I’m convinced that had I gone with some other product the results would not have been so satisfactory. Many thanks.”
