I bought a quart of Pentacryl and used it on a hickory bowl that I had turned and set aside to dry in several paper grocery bags. The bowl distorted and cracked and I was about to discard it when remembered reading about Pentacryl on a blog posting. I used it on the bowl and it was amazing–the distortion completely disappeared and so did the cracking. I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it personally. The bowl looks like it never had anything wrong with it.
I’ve since used it one several unseasoned bowls after rough turning and they all came out absolutely perfectly.
